MINGORA, March 24: People continued holding protest meetings also on Monday against the US-led forces’ attack on Iraq and asked the Muslim countries to take a united stand against the Zionists.

A public meeting was held here at the Nisaht chowk under the auspices of the Jamiat Ishaat-i-Tauhid wa Sunnat, which was addressed by Maulana Fazal Haq, Maulana Abdullah, Maulana Sultan ul Haqa, Maulana Habib Ahmad, Maulana Azizullah.

The speakers asked the government to announce an open support to Iraq and sever relations with the United State and its allies.

They said it was time for the Muslims to unite and stressed that the need that the Muslims should avoid using goods made in the US and its allied countries.

The protesters marched through various bazaars and set the effigy of the US president George W. Bush on fire.

Raising slogans, they also vowed to sacrifice their lives for the safety of Muslims.

HARIPUR: Students of the government postgraduate college for boys, Haripur, took out a protest rally against the US attack on Iraq here on Monday.

The students, who also boycotted their classes, marched to Chowk Panian in a procession raising pro-Iraq and anti-US slogans. The traffic also remained suspended for some time.

The speakers on the occasion condemned Iraq’s invasion by the UK and US forces and termed it a naked aggression unleashed against the innocent Iraqis.

They said that the US had never been a friend of Muslims and let loose hell on them on one pretext or the other.

Terming bombing on Iraqi people a barbaric act and against the human rights, they asked the government to adopt a clear policy on this issue and extend help to the Iraqi brethren who were in dire need of financial and moral support of Pakistan.
