LAHORE, March 22: A hurricane 31-ball 67 by Humayun Farhat and a fine spell of bowling by Arshad Khan helped Allied Bank qualify for the quarterfinals of the NBP One-day Patron’ Cup with an easy 10-wicket win over Lahore Whites in the last Pool ‘D’ tie at LCCA Ground on Saturday.
Chasing an easy target, ABL raced to victory by scoring 109 off only 8.5 overs without losing any wicket. Humayun bludgeoned 15 fours.
Earlier, off-spinner Arshad captured four for 19 in 9.4 overs and medium-pacer Taimur three for 29 as Lahore Whites struggled against a disciplined bowling attack.
Pak PWD benefited from Lahore’s misfortunes to reach last eight on net run-rate after defeating Service Industries at Gymkhana Ground i Okara by six wickets. Saad Wasim played superbly for the winners to score 95.
Sheikhupura, meanwhile, beat Karachi Blues by 47 runs at Sheikhupura Stadium in a match of academic interest.
