PESHAWAR, March 16: An under-trial prisoner escaped from the court premises on Saturday.

Police sources said that an alleged car-lifter, Abdur Rauf, was produced before the sessions court judge, Izharullah Habib, for hearing. After the hearing, he came out of the court, opened his handcuffs and escaped.

Abdur Rauf was arrested by the Daudzai police on Oct 18, last year, on charges of car-lifting.

The city police have suspended three of the police officials who had brought the accused to the court.
