KARACHI, March 16: The Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sindh chapter has rejected the governments moves to incorporate the Legal Framework Order in the Constitution, and termed it a conspiracy against the country, nation, federation, judiciary and against the rights of people.
The PPP in a resolution, adopted at its provincial council meeting on Sunday, which was presided over by its President Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, further maintained that according to the 1973’s Constitution no one, including Gen Pervez Musharraf, had the right to elect a person to the office of the president, and it was the exclusive right of the parliament to amend any article of the Constitution with its two third majority.
The council, which was attended, besides its members, by Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Taj Haider, Haji Muzaffar Ali Shujra, ND Khan, Manzoor Wasan, Ruqayya Khanum Soomro and others, reviewed the arrangements for commemoration of 24t death anniversary of the party founder, late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on April 4.
By another resolution, the council paid tributes to late Bhutto for his services for the country and Islam.
Speaking at the council session, Mr Khuhro said that 24 years had passed since the death of late Bhutto but Gen Zia’s agents and his vestiges were still occupying the country.
