LAHORE, March 15: Former PML(Q) president Mian Mohammad Azhar, former caretaker prime minister Malik Meraj Khalid and Tehrik-i-Istiqlal leader Rehmat Khan Wardag said in a joint statement here on Saturday that the government should take into confidence parties that were represented in the parliament, and pay added attention to the common man’s problems.
According to a press release, the three leaders were of the view that despondency was growing among the masses by every passing day and in case the government failed to address it, the lava could erupt anytime.
The World Bank or any military leader would not prevent the government from serving the people, they said.
“To solve problems of the masses, the government would have to rely more on political leaders than the administration.
“In case the political forces were pushed to the wall or decisions were imposed on them, the ensuing confrontation would be detrimental for the country.”
They advised the government not to be a party to the possible aggression against Iraq.
