ISLAMABAD, March 15: The government has finalized all the arrangements for holding a single country exhibition in Bahrain.
According to a press release issued by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), a meeting was held here that was presided over by the minister for industries and production, Liaquat Ali Jatoi, to discuss arrangements for the exhibition.
The meeting was also attended by the ministry of industries and production secretary, Dr M. Akram Sheikh; the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) chairman, Tariq Ikram; and the ICCI president, Mian Akram Farid.
The minister exchanged his views with the ICCI president to make the exhibition successful and discussed the strategy for getting maximum export orders.
During the meeting, Mr Jatoi said the government wanted to involve the leaders of business community and representatives of chambers of commerce in the process of introducing the national products abroad and enhancing the exports.
He stressed that the government wanted to get the maximum advantage from the Bahrain exhibition and it was expecting huge demands for Pakistani textiles, engineering, steel, sports goods, rice and other exports after the exhibition.
“We are searching new markets for national exports and wish that the business community will play a positive role to support us in getting this target,” the minister said. The ICCI president assured the meeting of full cooperation of business community in enhancing the exports.
“The business community is ready to play its role in entering a new era of exports and industrial development for the country and I hope that the government will utilize the capabilities of our community,” Mr Akram said.
