PESHAWAR, March 13: National Assembly member Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali complained on Thursday that C-130 flights had not been started to Chitral despite repeated assurances held out to him by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.
Mr Chitrali said in a statement that he had met the prime minister twice to apprise him of the travel problems of Chitrali people. He said the prime minister had assured him that C-130 flights would be started soon to facilitate the residents of Chitral but the flights had not been launched yet.
He asked the prime minister to immediately order the launching of the flights to help the people maintain their links with the rest of the country during snowfall, when the Lowari Pass remained closed.
