WASHINGTON, March 11: The United States is ready to go to war against Iraq without Britain if necessary, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said here on Tuesday.

He added that the United States was communicating privately with the Iraqi military on how to escape attack by signalling that they posed no threat to invading US forces. —AFP
