WASHINGTON, March 11: US President George Bush apologized to Afghan President Hamid Karzai over his treatment by US lawmakers during a late February visit to Washington, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said on Tuesday.
“There is a longstanding tradition of foreign leaders, when they testify before the Senate, of being received with a level of decorum and the president thought that an apology was warranted in this matter,” he told reporters.—AFP
