HYDERABAD, March 10: A member of the syndicate of the Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Dr Rajab Ali Memon, has appealed to the Sindh governor to issue directives to the vice-chancellor to cancel appointments made during the banned period.
In a communication addressed to the governor on March 7, a copy of which was obtained by Dawn, the meritorious professor said he had communicated his dissent to the vice-chancellor, Dr Bashir Ahmad Chandio, on contractual appointments of more than two dozen persons.
He said these appointments made were in violation of a Supreme Court decision communicated to the university by the secretary to the governor on May 14, 1995.
The former vice-chancellor said the university had been asked to cancel appointments made without adopting proper procedure.
He criticized the vice-chancellor for ignoring recommendations of statutory bodies and taking unilateral decisions.
