Truck loaded with sugar hijacked

MIRPURKHAS, Nov 30: A truck loaded with sugar bags was hijacked by some highway robbers at Kot Ghulam Muhammad-Mirwah road, in the jurisdiction of taluka police station on Thursday night. Report said that the truck (No. 6236) carrying sugar bags was coming to Mirpurkhas from Kot Ghulam Muhammad. Some unknown highwaymen intercepted the truck on gunpoint hijacked the truck and threw the truck driver into thick forest across the road. Taluka police were investigating the matter. Meanwhile, a child was seriously injured after falling from roof of his house in the city on Friday. Faraz son of Qurban was playing when he fell down from the roof and rushed to Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas where he was admitted.

PESH IMAMS: Five Pesh Imams have been arrested by Town and Satellite town police on Thursday night on charges of illegal and unnecessary use of loud speakers in different mosques.

On the directives of higher authorities, SSP Mirpurkhas had informed all leaders of religious parties not to use unnecessary loud speakers specially at mosques. Some pesh imams allegedly misused loud speakers in the mosques and violated the directives.

Town police have arrested Shoukat Ali, Muhammad Hassan alias Faizul Hassan and Fayaz Ahmed, while Satellite town police picked up Baboo and Muhammad Ishaque. The police have registered cases under section 3, loud speakers and amplifier act against the arrested persons.

RAILWAYS: President, railway workers federation and railway workers Inqilabi union Manzoor Ahmed Razi has said that following the induction of military in railways, facilities for employees have been decreased as result of which the employees were facing difficulties. He was talking to newsmen here on Friday after his arriving at Mirpurkhas.

He lamented free passes for retired and widows were abolished, while education and medical facilities were decreased and both department were given to private sector.
