Four killed in Bajaur Agency

BAJAUR, March 1: Four persons were killed and two others were critically injured in two different incidents in Bajaur agency.

The first incident was occurred in the remote village Gabari of Mamond sub-division, when some unknown persons set a Russian made anti-personal mine near the main gate of the house of a local tribal elder Malik Jan Khan on Thursday night.

When some members of the house were on the main gate of their house on Friday morning Sultan, the young son of Malk Jan Khan, touched the mine-bomb. The bomb exploded as a result two persons, Sultan and Ajdar died on the spot and Shah Gul critically wounded.

The wounded persons were shifted to Agency head quarter hospital Khar, where Shah Gul is improving.

The villagers said that Malik Jan Khan and some other persons of the village are engaged in an old enmity and so far about 10 persons have been killed from both the sides.

The local tribal elders and the political administration had tried to stop the landmine incidents but yet these types of inhuman incidents are still going on in the border area of Bajaur, the villagers added.

In another incident two persons were killed and one got seriously wounded in another incident of violation.

Sources said some unknown persons attacked the house of a local tribal leader, Juma Khan in the village of Mandal, five km away from Khar as a result of which two persons, Shamat Khan and Taj Gul died on the spot and Momin Khan got seriously wounded.

The injured was hospitalized but the condition of Momin Khan is still critical, the relatives of victim said on Friday.
