HYDERABAD, Feb 24: The Islami Tehrik Pakistan, Hyderabad district, held protest meetings on Sunday at the central Imam Bargha Shah Najaf and Qadamgah Maula Ali to condemn the killing of 10 innocent people outside the Imambargah Muntazirul Mehdi, Rafah-i-Aam Society, Karachi.

Quran Khwani and Fateha Khwani was also held for the martyrs.

Addressing the meetings, Quasim Hussain Shah Naqvi, Nizamul Haideri, Sher Ali Shah Kazmi, Tajamul Abbasi Naqvi and others demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.

They appealed to the Shia and Sunni communities to remain peaceful and not to pay heed to rumours.

Meanwhile, the provincial president, ITP, Allama Hassan Turabi, has announced that peaceful demonstrations and meetings will be held throughout Sindh province on Feb 28 to condemn the killings.

Special prayers were also offered for the unity and solidarity of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah.

DOCTORS: Contractual doctors under the banner of Contract Doctors Forum, Hyderabad, held a protest demonstration outside the press club on Sunday against the non-regularization of their services.

Addressing the protesters, leaders of the forum, Dr Ahmed Ali Bughio, Dr Zafar Hussain and Dr Abdur Razzaq Baloch, said the contractual doctors have been serving in the interior of Sindh for the last seven years but despite promises by successive governments their services have not been regularized and added that even their salaries have been withheld.

They appealed to all the doctors of the province to join the protest demonstration scheduled to be held outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Feb 27.
