LAHORE, Feb 19: The bodies of six people who were killed in heavy rain in the city late on Tuesday night were returned to their families on Wednesday.
Police said all six people were buried in local graveyards and scores of people offered their funeral prayers held separately in Badami Bagh and Shadbagh.
Sumaira, wife of Qaiser Abbas, an employee of the Mayo Hospital, and her three children — Qainat (12), Mahnoor (10) and Inaam (7) — were killed when the ceiling of their house collapsed on them at Muhammadia Colony in Badami Bagh.
Samina, 25, and her four-month-old son Imran, alias Bhola, were buried alive at Bhambay Jhugian in Shadbagh.
Meanwhile, minor injuries to several people were reported in different parts of the city in rain-related incidents.
Two men were injured and four cattleheads were killed when a cattle-shed collapsed in Sabzazar.
Another man suffered injuries when a tree fell and hit him at a bus-stop in Manga Mandi.
The injured people were being treated in hospitals and doctors at the Mayo Hospital said one of the wounded people admitted there was critical.
