Woman, friend kidnapped

TOBA TEK SINGH, Feb 18: Eight men kidnapped a woman and her lover from Chak No. 289 JB (Chando Badala) on Tuesday.

Azra Bibi resident of Chak No. 45 GB (Faisalabad district) used to visit a fake pir, Mushtaq Ahmad. Later, she allegedly eloped with Mushtaq.

Saddar police had registered a case under Hudood Ordinance against the two.

Ishtiaq Ahmad informed police that he with the help of relatives brought his father and the woman to the village. He said they were to hand over Azra to her relatives on Tuesday when Ghulam Rasool and his seven accomplices forcibly took away his father and the woman in a wagon to an unknown place. Ghulam Rasool is a relative of Azra.

He feared that the accused might have killed the both.

Saddar police registered the case but could not recover the woman and her lover till late on Tuesday night.

DACOITIES: A house in Chak No. 323 JB (Trandi) was looted on Monday night.

Four dacoits forced their entry into the house and locked all inmates in a bathroom. They fled away with a tractor, gold ornaments, cash and other valuables, worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.

A doctor was deprived of his motorcycle and cash in Chak No. 191 GB (Makhdooman Wali) on Tuesday.

Five dacoits intercepted Dr Muhammad Nawaz near the canal bridge and took away his motorcycle and Rs1,000.
