Dryport blast accused’s remand extended

SIALKOT, Feb 17: The Daska civil judge on Monday extended physical remand of main accused of Sambrial blast for three more days.

Sambrial police produced accused Aminuddin alias Irfan Memon of Karachi before the court amid tight security. Police requested the court to extend accused’s physical remand for the recovery of documents from the accused through which he had imported the consignment.

The judge also ordered the Sambrial police to record the statements of Sialkot dryport and customs officials.

The accused allegedly imported two containers which exploded on Feb 4, killing 17 people and injuring more than 35. — Correspondent
