QUETTA, Feb 15: Three personnel of the Frontier Corps and a civilian were injured in a landmine explosion in the Chamlang area on Saturday.
“A landmine was laid down in the middle of the road which exploded when hit by the pick up,” a senior official of the Kohlu administration said, while confirming the incident over telephone.
The injured, including the driver, were rushed to civil hospital, Kohlu, for treatment.
Sources said that the Frontier Corps personnel were on way to Kohlu from Chamlang in a hired vehicle to purchase daily commodities for the troops deployed in the coal mine area.
A dispute over the ownership of the coal mines between the tribes in the area had claimed many lives during the last three years and the tribesmen usually lay down landmines to stop others from the coal mines.
