RAWALPINDI, Feb 15: The additional district and sessions judge, Mirza Rafiuz Zaman, on Saturday rejected the bail application of an alleged car-thief.

The accused, Sabir Khan, had allegedly stolen a car in the jurisdiction of Airport police station.

The civil judge and judicial magistrate, Azfar Sultan Syed, acquitted five persons of the charges of harassing and beating up their neighbours owing to the lack of evidences against them.

The accused — Rustam, Kamran, Asad, Tahir and Hamid — had been booked by the Airport police for harassing and beating their neighbours over property dispute.

The senior magistrate, Abbas Raza Gilani, accepted the bail application of a person accused of disturbing peace in his neighbourhood after drinking liquor.

The court granted bail to accused, Atif Gilani, who was booked by the New Town police after hearing the defence council.

According to the defence council, the police had falsely implicated the accused in the case.
