LAHORE, Feb 11: Iranian consul general Muhammad Khodadi says the Islamic revolution of his country will strengthen ties between Tehran and Islamabad.
Speaking at the 24th anniversary of the revolution here on Thursday, he said President Syed Muhammad Khatami’s visit to Pakistan, specially to Lahore, was aimed at renewing the decades old friendship between both the countries.
Former president Rafiq Tarar, Punjab Housing Minister Ali Raza Gilani, Advocate Ismael Qureshi, Jamaat-i-Islami Punjab amir Hafiz Idrees, Aslam Saleemi and Jamia Al-Muntazir principal Allama Kazim Husain and others were also present on the occasion.
Mr Khodadi hoped that this friendship would strengthen with the passage of time and that the presence of Pakistanis in the ceremony was a testimony of the fact. —Staff Reporter
