HYDERABAD, Nov 27: The Sindh University has decided that without availability of proper teaching staff, library and laboratory no affiliation will be granted to any institute or college in future and the affiliation rules and regulations shall be followed and implemented strictly.
This was decided by the affiliation committee of the university at its meeting held here on Tuesday.
The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui.
The meeting decided that surprise quarterly visits will be paid to every affiliated college and the meetings of the affiliation committee shall be held twice in a year on regular basis.
The meeting also decided that those institutes and colleges which are not fulfilling the requirements of teaching staff in various disciplines and facilities of library and laboratory are not provided will not be granted affiliation.
The meeting granted affiliation to the Patroman Institute, Hyderabad, and about the request of Pilot College, Hyderabad, regarding affiliation with the university a committee was constituted to visit and check the available facilities in the institute.
The meeting cancelled the affiliation of Institute of Science and Management (ISM), Hyderabad.
The vice chancellor stressed upon the affiliation committee to play its due role for the improvement of the quality of education in the affiliated colleges and added that it was the primary duty of the committee to check the available and required facilities.
EXAMS: The Sindh University has decided to adopt strict security measures during the semester examinations.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Registrar Professor Ferozuddin Kazi.
The meeting discussed the law and order situation and possible measures for the first semester examinations of bachelors and masters degree programme which will commence from Nov 29.
The meeting also discussed the administrative steps taken by the examination wing and decided that a team of examination section and the admission cell will also be present at the examination centres.
The meeting decided that the admit cards will be checked by the deans and senior professors at the main entrance of the examination centres.
The meeting decided that a committee of deans and senior professors would visit the examination centres daily and will check the available facilities and resolve any problem.
It was also decided that during the examination hours no outsider would be allowed in the examination centres.
The meeting reviewed the position of point busses for students pick and drop facilities at perfect timings for the examinations.
RESULTS: The Sindh University has announced the result of LLB part-II bi-annual examination 1999 and LLB part-III bi-annual examination 1999.
LUMHS: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health sciences has announced that the Sindh University, Jamshoro, has declared Dec 3, as last date for submission of examination forms for the re-conduct of medicine-I paper for LUMHS centre of final professional MBBS.
All candidates have been directed to submit their examination forms before Dec 3, as there will be no extension in the last date.
