LAHORE, Feb 11: With the slaughterhouses and meat shops having been closed for a week from Tuesday, butchers have become active for securing orders for sacrificing the animals on Eidul Azha.

While the professional butchers booked orders at their shops, the unprofessional butchers carrying knives and wooden blocks were seen moving around in all parts of the city looking for prospective customers.

Arrangements have also been made at certain places for sacrificing the animals collectively.

People specializing in removal of hair from the heads and feet of the sacrificed animals have set up their stalls in all parts of the city.

Hundreds of temporary centres for collection of hides have also been set up by religious organizations and NGOs.
