ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will complete over two dozen mega development projects worth over Rs5 billion by the end of the current fiscal year.
This was said at a briefing given to the District Army Monitoring Team (DAMT) in charge, Brig Liaquat, by a CDA official on Tuesday.
Among others, the briefing was also attended by the CDA chairman, Mir Laiq Shah, the AMT in charge in the Authority, Col Rafique Sabir.
The meeting was informed that over 70 per cent work on all mega projects had been completed.
The CDA official said 80 per cent work on Islamabad Expressway, from Karal Chowk to Faizabad, had been done. The Rs494.676 million project would be completed by March 31, 2002.
Dualization of Islamabad Highway from Karal Chowk to Rewat will be completed at Rs633.52 million. Some 70 per cent of the work has been done, and the entire project will be completed by March 31, 2002.
The project of the repair of old Service Road East I-9 and H-9 will be completed by July 29, 2002 at Rs54.577 million.
The meeting was informed that tenders were being accepted for dualization of I.J. Principal Road from Faizabad to the Grand Trunk Road interchange. The total cost of the project is Rs932.571 million, however Rs210 million have been allocated for the current fiscal year.
Some 70 per cent work on storm drainage system at sector I- 16 has been dome and the entire project will be completed by the end of the current financial year.
Moreover, 45 per cent work on dualization of Khayaban-i- Iqbal Road at F-8 has been completed. The Rs46.924 million project is expected to be completed by March 5, 2002.
The CDA official said some 40 per cent development work on second carriage way of service road (East) F-10 had been completed. The total cost of the project is Rs10.467 million, but Rs7 million have been allocated for the current year. The final date of project’s completion is November 28.
Some 65 per cent work on dualization of remaining portion of service road (North), sector G-8, has been completed. The total cost of project is Rs8.836 million, and Rs3.500 have been earmarked for the current year.
The extension of Shahrah-i-Jumhuria from National Library to 4th Avenue will be completed by January 2, 2002 at Rs8 million. Some 35 per cent work on the project has been done.
The meeting was informed that some 75 per cent work on laying of main water pipeline from Shah Allah Ditta Reservoir to different sectors, had been completed. The total cost of the project is Rs670.521 million, and Rs60 million will be spent in the current fiscal year.
The augmentation of Islamabad water supply scheme has been completed upto 99 per cent. The Rs346.232 million project will be completed by next month.
Laying of sewerage lines in sector I-6/1&4 will be completed by May 24, 2002 at Rs20 million. So far, 20 per cent on the project has been completed.
The DAMT in charge was informed that tenders were being accepted for laying of peripheral main water supply lines. This project will be completed at Rs20 million.
Some 20 per cent work on establishing water supply system at sector I-16/1&4 has been done. The total cost of the project is Rs2211.936, however, Rs22 million have been earmarked for the current year.
In a similar project, water supply distribution system will set up at sector I-16/2&3 at Rs22 million. So far, 20 per cent work has been done, and the entire project will be completed by June 29, 2002.
Similarly, 20 per cent work on laying of sewerage lines at sector I-16/2&3 has been executed and the whole project will be completed by May 24, 2002 at Rs16 million.
The meeting was informed that 67 per cent work on establishing water supply network in commercial area south of I.J. Principal Road had been executed. The Rs2.696 million project will be completed by June 29, 2002.
