PESHAWAR, Feb 10: The NWFP government shuffled the provincial bureaucracy on Monday by relaxing the ban in place on postings and transfers.
Posting and transfer orders of a total of 17 senior officers of the District Management Group (DMG) and Provincial Civil Services (PCS) were issued under a notification of the Establishment and Administration department, NWFP.
Six senior officers holding important offices were asked to report to the Establishment and Administration department and not given any new assignment.
Among them are two officers of Basic Pay Scale (PBS) 20, one each of BPS-19 and BPS-17. Whereas, two belong to BPS-18.
The officers who have not been given new assignments are: Maj (retd) Iftikhar Ali Shah (DMG officer of BPS-20) who was holding the office of secretary excise and taxation, Jamil Amjad (DMG officer of BPS-20) who was the secretary social welfare department, Arshad Mirza (DMG officer of BPS-19), secretary health department, Hazrat Masud Mian (DMG officer of BPS-18), district coordination officer of Dir Lower district, Nek Daraz Khan (PCS officer of BPS-17), DO(R&E) Dera Ismail Khan and Mohammed Akbar Khan (PCS officer of BPS-18) who was holding the charge of DO(R&E) Mardan.
Under the administrative changes effected on Monday, three officers on special duty (OSD) were given new assignments ending their stay in the pool of OSDs.
Reayat Khan (DMG officer of BPS-20) was posted as District Coordination Officer at Dera Ismail Khan, Dr Ihsan-ul-Haq (DMG officer of BPS-19) was posted as secretary health department whereas Arbab Shah Rukh (DMG officer of BPS-19) was assigned the office of secretary industries. The last two would serve in their own pay and scale after having been assigned BPS-20 offices.
Similarly, Maj (retd) Khalid Hussain Gillani (DMG officer of BPS-19) was transferred from the office of director general mines and minerals and was posted as secretary excise and taxation department. He would discharge his duty in his own pay and scale in addition to looking after the post of director general mines and minerals till further orders by the Establishment and Administration department, NWFP.
Mian Sahib Jan (PCS SG officer of BPS-20) was transferred from the post of secretary workers welfare board and posted as secretary food department relieving the secretary agriculture department who was holding the additional charge of secretary food department.
Shala Khan Afridi (PCS SG officer of BPS-20) was transferred from the post of member governor’s inspection team and was made secretary social welfare department.
Muhammed Nasim Khan (PCS officer of BPS-20) was transferred from the post of DCO Tank district and assigned the office of DCO Deral Ismail Khan district. However, he will continue looking after the office he relinquished till further orders by the Establishment and Administration department, NWFP.
Noor-ul-Haq Khan (PCS officer of BPS-19) was transferred from the post of administrator Auqaf department and made secretary environment department. He would work as secretary environment in his own pay and scale, the notification said.
Mohammed Ishfaq Khan (PCS officer of BPS-19) was transferred from the office of additional secretary health department and was transferred as DCO Dir Lower district. He would, too, perform his duties in his own pay and scale.
Muhammed Anwar Khan Mehsud (PCS officer of BPS-18) was transferred from the post of DO (R&E), district Bannu and was posted as DO (R&E), Dera Ismail Khan district.
Meanwhile, through a separate notification, Masood-ur-Rehman (PCS officer of BPS-19) was transferred from the post of registrar, cooperative societies and posted as the presiding officer, revenue appellate court No.II, Mardan.
