HYDERABAD, Feb 10: The Communist Party of Pakistan (Khaskheli group) staged a rally here on Sunday against the impending US attack on Iraq.

The rally began from Haider Chowk and terminated at the Hyderabad Press Club.

Participants of the rally chanted slogans against US President George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Speaking on the occasion, Comrade Imdad Kazi accused the USA of thrusting war on world for its economic and political gains.

Other speakers included Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo, Chacha Maula Bukhsh Khaskheli and Father Philip Hira.

Pakistan People’s Party leader Comrade Jam Saqi, Sindh Tehrik-i-Insaf chief Haider Ali Talpur, Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Afzal Gujjar and the human right activists also participated in the rally.

CONTRACT DOCTORS: The contract doctors held a demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday.

They were demanding regularization of their services as promised by the government.

They also demanded payment of their 17-month salaries.

The protest was led by Dr Mohammad Akram Ghumman.

SINDH UNIVERSITY: The Sindh University’s faculty of social sciences is organising a two-day national conference on ‘Economic Rights And Social Justice — New Political Agenda for Pakistan’ on Feb 19-20 at the Allama I. I. Kazi Campus, Jamshoro.

Federal minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi will inaugurate the conference while federal minister for education Zubaida Jalal will preside over the concluding session of the conference.
