HYDERABAD, Feb 8: The All Sindh Mosque School Teachers Association, Hyderabad chapter, has said political interference is destroying primary education in the province.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here the other day, the district president of the association, Abdullah Khan Leghari, and general

secretary Ghulam Raza Kaka said junior teachers from other areas were appointed as resource persons which had created resentment among senior teachers.

They said despite ban on postings, 14 resource persons were appointed against four posts of resource persons in Tando Mohammad Khan and in Hala, nine resource persons were appointed against three posts.

They demanded the Sindh chief minister should take notice of the matter.

The association leaders further said the Sindh government had also banned posting of science teachers as supervisors but this ban was being violated.

They warned if these anomalies were not rectified, they would not allow junior resource persons to visit masque schools and would stage demonstrations and observe hunger strikes.

Answering a question, they said there were 40,000 mosque teachers in the province.

HALL: The main hall of the Sindhi Language Authority was named after renowned scholar, educationist and historian Dr Nabi Bux Khan Baloch at a ceremony held here the other day.

Federal Minister Mehmood Ali fixed the nameplate of Dr Baloch at the entrance of the hall.
