MULTAN, Feb 4: Almost half the weapons carried by a Rangers contingent guarding the gas pipelines in Mazari Goth area of Rajanpur district turned out to be out of order in an exercise conducted on the visit of a senior official of paramilitary forces.

Sources said Punjab Rangers director-general Maj-Gen Hussain Mehdi was in Mazari Goth on Tuesday to inspect the measures taken by his force to protect the gas pipeline from further attacks.

The DG was accompanied by senior officials of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Houbara Foundation’s Chaudhry Mohammad Muneer.
