HYDERABAD, Feb 1: The Sindh information department has reviewed its policy of giving advertisements to newspapers and the present situation may be reversed after the provincial cabinet’s approval.
This was stated by the information secretary, Sindh, Mehtab Akbar Rashidi, while speaking at a meet the press programme of the local press club on Saturday.
Referring to the token hunger strike, being observed outside the press club by some journalists, who had complaints about advertisements, she said that she had talked to the federal information secretary on the issue.
Ms Rashidi said that she was aware about the problems confronting journalists, regarding police excesses.
She said that she had talked to the inspector general of police, Sindh, in this respect.—Correspondent
