LARKANA, Feb 1: People in the Dokri town observed strike on Saturday to protest against the murder of two persons in the Rice Research Institute’s colony on Friday night.
A large number of people, led by Bakhshal Gilal, Monis Bokhari and Saleem Wadho, took out a procession after shutting down their business.
The procession started from the Dokri town and terminated at the Channa bridge where the protesters staged a sit-in for one hour.
They also burnt tyres and demanded arrest of the killers.
The protesters ended the blockade after they were assured by the DPO the killers would be arrested within two days.
Some armed men on Friday night barged into the house of Ramzan Abro for robbery and when the inmates woke up and offered resistance, they opened fire.
Shahmeer Abro and his sister, Zubida Abro, were killed and Rahib and Zamir were injured in the firing.
Man, son killed: A man and his son were shot dead in Ratodero on Saturday while they were going to the court of a judicial magistrate for a hearing.
Five men opened fire on Malhi Bozdar, 60, and his son, Sajjad, 28, when they were alighting from a wagon.
Sajjad had allegedly killed his wife and a man, Lohar Bozdar, two years back on the pretext of Karo-kari and since then he was in jail.
He was granted bail on Friday.
Arshad Bozdar, the brother of the deceased, who escaped the attack, said he had identified four of the attackers and they were Munir Bozdar, Rahamdil, Ali Jan and Lal Khan.
ACCIDENT: Two men were killed and two others were injured when a rickshaw hit a motorcycle on the Airport Road on Saturday.
Hubdar Pirzado, a councillor of the Bagi union council, and Luqman Kalhoro were killed and Ghafoor Zohrani and Khadim Abro were injured in the accident.
