PESHAWAR, Nov 26: The Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB), Chitral, distributed Rs0.725 million agriculture loan to 29 farmers during the current month, manager of the bank Tasbeeh Ullah told Dawn on Monday.

The MCB had geared up the loaning process to support the government efforts for improving the agriculture sector, he added.

Giving details of the scheme, Mr Tasbeeh said the bank aimed at supporting the agriculture development of Chitral, therefore, it was providing farm loans on reasonable markup.

He said that for this purpose, a separate counter had been established at the branch so that the small farmers of the area could get maximum benefits of the scheme.
