31 more diagnosed with measles

LAHORE, April 15: At least 31 more cases of measles were reported in the provincial capital on Monday.

Majority of the children were shifted to the Mayo Hospital, Children’s Hospital and at private health facilities. A senior official at the Directorate General Health Office said no death was reported in any part of the city on Monday.

AWARENESS: Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Dr Anjum Habib Vohra has emphasised doctors should sensitise patients about preventive measures against seasonal diseases, symptoms and treatment and importance of cleanliness for avoiding dengue virus.

Addressing a meeting at the Lahore General Hospital on Monday to devise a strategy to combat seasonal diseases, Dr Vohra said high dependency units with modern machinery had been fully prepared in the backdrop of the possible return of dengue.

LGH MS Dr Muhammad Hasan, professors, senior administration officials, nursing staff and other doctors attended the meeting.

Dr Vohra stressed on nurses to keep every patient’s history chart completely updated, which was a basic step towards providing the person timely and required treatment.
