LAHORE, Jan 30: The Supreme Court on Thursday vacated the stay order against the grant of exclusive rights to a transport company for plying 70-seat buses on route 32 (from the railway station to Youhanabad).

While vacating its own order, the SC admitted the petition for regular hearing. Earlier, it had temporarily allowed the plying of minibuses and wagons on this route after suspending the order of the Lahore High Court which had dismissed the petition.

Petitioner Mohammad Younas, challenging the LHC order before the SC, argued that the Motor Vehicle Ordinance had been amended by on Oct 17, 2002. As a result all the minibuses and wagons being plied on route 32 had been banned and exclusive rights had been granted to Premier Transport company for plying 70-seat buses on.
