Ex-first class player, selector Ijaz Mirza dies
KARACHI, April 8: Former first-class cricketer and ex-KCCA selector and Council member Ijaz Hussain Mirza expired here on Sunday night after a protracted illness. He was 70.
He left behind two sons and a widow to mourn his death. He was laid to rest at Sakhi Hasan graveyard on Monday afternoon.
A right-handed batsman, Ijaz Mirza featured in 29 first-class matches for Karachi and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and scored 985 runs at an average of 31.55 including one century besides taking two wickets with his leg-breaks.
Quran khawani for the departed soul will be held at his residence C-44/1, J-Block, North Nazimabad on Tuesday.—APP
