BHUBANESWAR: India on Sunday test-fired its nuclear capable Agni-II strategic ballistic missile from a military base in Odisha, defence sources said.

The test was conducted at Wheeler’s Island in Bhadrak district, around 200km from here, by army personnel as part of a training exercise, the sources said.

The medium-range surface-to-surface missile with a range of over 2,000km has already been inducted into the army and is part of the strategic forces arsenal for nuclear deterrence.
