RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday agreed to visit Rawalpindi’s constituency NA-55 to muster public support for former information minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

This was decided in a meeting between Imran Khan and Sheikh Rashid Ahmed at the former’s residence in Bani Gala, Islamabad.

PTI’s central leader Pervaiz Khattak and Naeem-ul-Haq were also present on the occasion.

Khan and Sheikh Rashid discussed the political situation of the country in general and Rawalpindi in particular.

Party sources said Imran Khan wanted to know the public’s reaction to his submission of nomination papers for Rawalpindi’s NA-56.

Sheikh Rashid briefed Imran Khan about the details of influential groups in the constituency who would help Imran convince people to vote for him.

In return, Imran Khan assured Sheikh Rashid for his support in NA-55, and promised to visit the constituency for the election campaign.

He also agreed to address a public meeting in NA-55.
