PARIS, Jan 29: The French mint has said it was seeking Islamic motifs and designs for six new coins that will be used to mark “Djazair 2003”, the year of Algeria in France.

The jury that will select the winning design for the new six-coin set marked to celebrate France’s historic relationship with Algeria includes Dalil Boubakeur, the imam of the Grand Mosque of Paris novelist Tahar Ben Jelloun, as well as representatives of Muslim bodies in France.
