LAHORE, Jan 28: The CBA union served on Tuesday a demands notice on Wapda management for negotiations to redress the grievances of the workers.
The notice was served by Pakistan Wapda Hydro-Electric Central Labour Union secretary-general Khurshid Ahmed under the provisions of the Industrial Relations Ordinance 2002.
The union has demanded discontinuation of deductions from the salaries of employees in scale 6 to 16 as had been done in case of employees in scale 1 to 5 besides payment of hardship allowance to Warsak, Ghazi Barotha, Muzaffargarh, Jamshoro, Kotri and Lakhra powerhouses employees and crew allowance to transmission and grid staff.
The union has also demanded payment of shift allowance to employees during night duty; restoration of the quota of the children of workers for fresh recruitments; regularization of the services of contract and workcharged employees; payment of arrears to GSC employees; provision of medical facilities to the employees in all the big cities and review of the decision to privatize the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company.
