SIALKOT, Jan 28: A proclaimed offender was killed in an encounter on Godhpur-Sialkot Road, police claimed on Tuesday.

Three unidentified armed men on a motorcycle intercepted a police party, taking PO Faiz Ahmad alias Fiaja to the police station after getting his remand from a local court, near Godhpur Chowk.

The armed men got Faiz freed from the police custody. The accused opened fire on the policemen who had started a chase. The police retaliated and Faiz was killed in the shootout while his accomplices escaped.

Police said Faiz, a resident of Sargodha, was wanted in various murder, dacoity and robbery cases.

Another proclaimed offender was killed by his rival in Warsaalkey village (Sambrial) of Daska tehsil.

Police said Imran alias Mani was shot dead by Maqsood alias Sooda over an old enmity on Tuesday evening. He was involved in various dacoity and robbery cases, police claimed.

Sambrial police registered a case, with no arrest.

In Pasrur tehsil, unidentified motorcyclists killed a man and injured his four family members on Tuesday evening.

Three men riding a motorcycle (No STL 994) intercepted the car of Abdul Rashid alias Gholli near Borrikey bus stop and opened fire. As a result, Rashid died on the spot while, his wife Shafqat Bibi, daughter Faiza Kulsoom, niece Bushra and nephew Ali Raza were injured.

Rashid, 50, was going to Pasrur city in his car (No STB 7799) with his family.

The condition of the injured was stated to be serious at the Pasrur Civil Hospital.

Pasrur Saddar police registered a case against the killers who were at large till late on Tuesday night.
