KARACHI: A man was shot dead after a brief altercation over parking of a vehicle in Mahmoodabad area and two bodies were found in Lines Area and Haji Camp areas on Sunday, police said.

Police said that Muhammad Luqman, 38, had had a heated argument with one Abdul Qadir when the latter parked the car outside his hardware shop near Gujjar Chowk close to Mahmoodabad furniture market.

“In the course of arguments, Qadir pulled out a pistol and fired at Luqman,” said the area’s sub-divisional police officer, DSP Altaf Hussain.

“He was hit in the chest and was rushed to the Jinnah hospital where he died.

The suspect has been detained by police,” said the official, adding that the victim was father of five. An FIR has not been registered yet.

Body found in gunny bag

Body of young man was found stuffed in a gunny bag near a Tonga stand in Lines Area.

“The young man was hit by three bullets. He was wearing shalwar kameez,” said an official at the Brigade police station.

Initial medico-legal examination at the Civil Hospital suggested that he had been dead at least 15 hours.
