QUETTA, March 21: Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Barozai, who has been nominated for the post of caretaker chief minister of Balochistan, is the elder son of a former chief minister.
Mr Barozai has no affiliation with any political party, though he served as provincial minister for revenue in the interim government in 2007.His father, Nawab Mohammad Khan Barozai, was the speaker of the first Balochistan Assembly and held the office of chief minister in 1977.A medical doctor by profession, Ghous Bakhsh Barozai was made chief of his tribe after the death of his father in 2004.He was born in 1954 in his native village of Karak in Sibi district and obtained early education in a government school. He later moved to Quetta for higher education. In 1982, he did his MBBS from Dow Medical College Karachi.Mr Barozai served in the health department for 22 years and retired in grade 22.A father of three, two sons and a daughter, Mr Barozai is a good player of tennis, squash and horse riding.
