LARKANA, Nov 25: The suspended DSP of Karani, Mr Jan Mohammad Brahmani, disproved charges levelled against him here on Saturday.

He stated this before the ASP city Alam Khan Shunwari in connection with the inquiry being conducted regarding the murder of a villager Imdad Khero in which the jailed SHO misused the mobile allotted to the DSP Karani.

Mr Brahmani denied that he had granted any permission to the then SHO Jawed Shaikh of Veehar police station for arresting any one from village Ranwat Khero of Dokri taluka. The SHO, he said, had on his own (mis) used his (DSPs’)and Fatehpur police stations vehicles.

The SSP had already been informed about the then SHO, the DSP said in his statement adding that he had no connection with ‘Kheros’. According to sources, the SSP had already been informed about the professional misconduct of the former SHO Veehar by the suspended DSP which included registration of fake FIRs, arrest of innocent persons and extortion etc.

According to police sources, if the SSP Larkana had intimated the DIG Larkana about the misconduct of the jailed SHO Jawed Shaikh earlier, the incident of Ranwat Khero village could not have been taken place.

Meanwhile the SSP Larkana Ghulam Nabi Memon has reverted the jailed SHO Jawed Shaikh to the rank of Assistant Sub-inspector of police in the light of reports filed by the suspended DSP of Karani Sardar Jan Brahmani.

However the new SHO of Veehar police station Noorullah Khoso on Saturday sought five more days remand from the judicial magistrate Larkana.

Dawn on Saturday learnt on good authority that Jawed Shaikh was trying to settle down the matter privately and certain influential of the area were sent to the aggrieved party for reconciliation. But the matter is yet to be settled, the sources said.
