KHAIRPUR, Jan 25: The members of the families affected by the fire, which reduced 30 houses to ashes on Friday, staged a demonstration to protest against Hesco authorities blaming them for the cause of conflagration.

The protesters complained that their houses, situated in the Bagri Mohalla near the Sabzi Mandi, had been burnt because of improper fixture of electricity wires on the poles.

The protesters also criticized the fire department for their failure to arrive on time, saying that the damage by the fire could have been contained.

They demanded of the authorities to provide them relief in the shape of shelter and compensation for their losses.

PROTEST: The taxi drivers continued their protest against the rising incidents of car snatching in the district on Saturday by staging a demonstration outside the local press club. They accused the Naushahro Feroze police of abetting the robbers.
