PESHAWAR, Jan 24: The NWFP Chief Minister, Akram Khan Durrani, on Thursday approved the master plan for the MPA hostel renovation during a surprise visit to the hostel in morning hours.
The chief minister went round various blocks of the hostel, which had been vacated recently. Secretary Administration Col Ghulam Hussain, briefed the chief minister about the construction in the MPA hostel.
The project, which includes improvement of existing structure, construction of more rooms and appropriate utilization of open space, would cost Rs6.2 million.
The chief minister directed the authorities to complete the construction work within the shortest possible time.
Deputy Speaker NWFP Assembly Ikramullah Shahid, Secretary Works and Services Brig Safdar and other high-ranking officials were present on the occasion.
The chief minister also directed shifting of the offices of executive engineer (irrigation) to the Warsak Road, so that the building could be incorporated in the original plan for renovation of the MPA hostel.
He said that estimates and cost of the building should be submitted to him so that the construction work could be initiated without any loss of time.
