KARACHI, Jan 24: The scrutiny of the nomination papers of candidates contesting on 14 general seats of Senate from Sindh was conducted at the Provincial Election Commission here on Friday.

Out of the total 31 nomination papers, 23 were declared valid. Six nomination papers were rejected whereas the rest two were pending an decision.

According to Election Commission sources, the candidates whose papers have been rejected are the former Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Jalal Mahmood Shah, ex-provincial minister Maqbool Shaikh, Malik Faisal Gabool and Dr M. Hassan Jaleesi.—APP
