KARACHI, Feb 27: The power supply to the Clifton grid station will remain off from 8am to 6pm on Thursday.
According to a press release issued by the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the electricity supply will remain suspended due to the second phase of implementation of the Clifton grid station’s new double circuit transmission line which includes installing new 132kV double circuit overhead transmission line for the Clifton grid station.
“Currently the Clifton grid station is supplied through a single circuit temporary arrangement coming in from the Mai Kolachi Gantry. On Thursday, the Clifton grid station will be shut down from 8am to 6pm for the installation of the new double circuit transmission line.
“The areas to be affected by this scheduled shutdown would be Clifton blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8; Frere Town, Bath Island, Dehli Colony, Keamari Area and Shirin Jinnah Colony.
“The installation of this new transmission line is aimed to significantly improve the reliability of the electricity supply system to the areas connected to the grid. The feeders supplying power to strategic locations and sensitive connections falling in the affected areas would be back-fed from alternative lines during the shutdown,” the press release read.
