LARKANA, Jan 22: Nisar Ahmad Khuhro has said instead of calling the Sindh Assembly’s session on points mentioned in the requestioned session, the governor, Dr Ishratul Ibad, had summoned it to discuss two ordinances regarding Bhatta and the non-confidence move against Nazims.

Talking to Dawn here on Wednesday, the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly said they had submitted application for calling a session to discuss delay in the NFC award, unemployment, law and order situation and the government’s interference in the bye-election.

He said the statement of the provincial government that the center had given Rs80 billion less to Sindh from its share was on the record.

To a question, the PPP leader said the growing graph of unemployment had led to frequent suicide incidents.

He said the law and order situation continued to deteriorate in the province.

He said the opposition wanted to discuss these issues on the floor of the house but the session was called on ordinances regarding Bhatta collection and no-confidence move against Nazims.

ZARDARI SHIFTED: The Sindh government on Wednesday declared the house of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in Naudero as sub-jail where Asif Ali Zardari would reside.

Zardari arrived in Naudero on Wednesday after his release on parole for three days.

Larkana Central Prison superintendent Manzoor Memon told Dawn in Naduero on Wednesday that jail police had been deployed at the house.
