MARDAN, Feb 21: A local consumer court on Thursday issued warrant for the arrest of Pesco chief, Xen and SDO concerned over repeated failure to show up despite issuance of summons.

Chairman of Consumer Protection Committee Asad Khan had moved the court against Wapda officials for long delay in the repair of an electricity transformer in Kaskooruna area.

District and sessions judge Shahid Khan on Thursday expressed annoyance at the long absence of the competent and relevant officials, issued warrant for the arrest of Pesco chief, Xen and SDO of the area concerned.

The Wapda officials requested the court to give them time until Feb 25 to submit reply in the case.

Meanwhile, a four-day Conference on Business Administration ended in Islamabad on Thursday.

Representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s five universities, including Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, Kohat University, University of Bannu, IMS Peshawar and University of Peshawar, participated in the conference.

The event was part of a three-year project between University of Kentucky and the five universities.

The representatives of these universities said training was very useful and would help them in research.

Faculties of the said five universities were trained in business administration. Later, they were given certificates.
