HYDERABAD, Feb 20: The Advanced Studies and Research Board (ASRB) of Sindh University approved on Wednesday the conferment of 27 postgraduate degrees to scholars of various disciplines.
The ASRB awarded 12 MPhil and 15 PhD degrees after deliberating on reports submitted by experts and fulfilling all the requirements.
The approval was accorded in the 115th meeting of the ASRB chaired by Sindh University vice chancellor Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Mughal on Wednesday.
Scholars who were conferred PhD degrees included Abdul Hafeez Laghari, Kamran Ahmed Abro, Mansoor Ahmed Qazi, Nuzhat Khan, Ms Sarfraz Ismail Arain, Yawar Latif Arain and Zulfiqar Ali in analytical chemistry, Samina Kabir Khanzada in botany, Altaf Ahmed in biotechnology, Rafique Ahmed in geology, Saeeda Parveen in Sindhi, Imdad Ali Khowaja in economics, Subhan Ali Majidano in chemistry, Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh in Urdu and Kiran Sami Memon in political science.
The other 12 scholars to receive an MPhil degree include Salma Memon in botany, Latif Dino Napar in geology, Mohammad Al Shinwan in computer science, Abbas Ali in statistics, Farooq Hussain in physical education and Bashir Ahmed Abbasi in environment sciences.
