Kaira for constitutional steps to control Balochistan law and order

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday condemned the Quetta blast, which killed around 84 Shia Hazaras, and said the government would control terrorism in accordance with the law and the constitution.

Speaking to a private news channel, he said that last time federal government imposed the governor rule in Balochistan on the demand of Hazara community.

He said that the provincial government should negotiate with the community for removing their grievances.

The minister said that Frontier Constabulary (FC) is operating in the province, adding that army is not the solution of problems.

He said the government has formed a high powered committee headed by the governor to tackle the current situation in the province.

Replying to a question, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that democratic system is necessary for the stability of the country.

He said the anti-democratic forces are trying to derail democracy as they want to let it flourish.

Kaira said that people who are involved in terrorism in Balochistan do not want a prosperous Pakistan.
