LAHORE, Jan 17: Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameeruddin Medical College principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra took notice of the expired eye drops in the outdoor pharmacy during inspection on Sunday and directed to seal all the stock.

According to a press release, Prof Vohra also suspended two pharmacists and two dispensers for their negligence.

He has constituted a four-member probe committee which will submit its report within 48 hours.

The committee, headed by Prof Ghayasun Nabi Tayyab, is consisted of Prof Saadia Charagh, Prof Khalid Bashir and AMS Dr Tariq Sultan Butt.

Prof Vohra told reporters that the LGH administration was taking effective measures for maintaining exemplary discipline in the hospital, provision of best available medical facilities to patients and to curb all kinds of corrupt practices.

He said that those who were found guilty of the presence of expired medicine in the pharmacy would have to face strict action.

All departments of the hospital were being closely monitored and the head of the department concerned would be held responsible in case of any negligence, he said.
