Holding education conference

Published February 16, 2013

IN our country we do not, unfortunately, give much attention to developing an education system which can meet the challenges of the 21st century. I have never seen or heard on TV channels any good news on development or improvement in the education sector whether it relates to primary, secondary or higher education.

It is necessary that in Pakistan we should quickly think and move forward in gearing up our educational activities. I would suggest authorities concerned in the education sector that they should hold an ‘education conference’ where they should invite educationist from all the provinces and evolve a strategy to uplift our present system.

In Pakistan we take pride when we see our doctors, engineers, bankers, insurance professionals and others doing so well abroad who earn a good name for themselves and also for the country.

I sincerely hope the authorities concerned will take steps and hold an education conference to elicit the views on improving education. One thing is for sure that Pakistan can only progress with good education of the upcoming generation.
